Freedom G-map is looking to recruit an Assistant Contract Manager to work on our newly awarded Environmental Land Management Framework. The post can be either Office or home based but the successful candidate needs to be centrally based to Suffolk, Kent and Somerset to enable reasonable accessibility to the clients' key sites.

The successful Land Management Consultant will be responsible for supporting the Contract Manager and Project Director for the framework and for delivering advice and management activities on site.

Job Content / Main Tasks:

- To assist the contract manager in the administration and delivery of the ELM contract.

- To assist in the preparation and related document management of risk assessments and method statements to support delivery of the ELM, (e.g. ecological mitigation works, woodland management, and grassland management).

- To project manage the delivery of work packages within the ELM including setting to work, supervision and sign off of completed works.

- To assist in the management and supervision of the sub-contractors, and the associated compliance with internal and external requirements for delivery (health and safety, certification, training).

- Attend site meetings.

- Provide advice to EDF Energy on land management requirements

- Monitoring and entering financial information onto Freedom systems.

- Ad hoc duties as from time to time required and reasonably requested to support the business

Skills/Knowledge/Qualifications:

- Qualification (BSc, HND) in a land based subject such as Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Countryside Management, Rural Estate / Land Management, Land and Farm Management or similar

- Working experience and knowledge of land based industries (Agriculture, Land Management, Forestry, and Landscaping)

- Practical understanding of Habitat creation, maintenance and restoration.

- Practical understanding of ecology, ecological mitigation and wildlife legislation.

- Budgeting and maintenance of financial information.

- Accurate information gathering and record keeping.

- Good organisational skills. - Client focused approach to delivery.

- Understanding of health and safety management and its application in the context of construction and rural land management.

- Ability to build and maintain relationships internally, and with clients and stakeholders.

- Ability to be reactive and responsive to demands of this dynamic project.  

Our contract manages our clients' land holdings outside of the licenced site areas of their nuclear power stations. This covers an estate of some 2,000 hectares of land around thirteen sites in England and Scotland. Freedom delivers day-to-day land and biodiversity management and provides land management and environmental mitigation advice for any new build projects. ?
