We are seeking two temporary field biologists to Conduct Desert Tortoise Biological Monitoring in Lake Mead Recreation Area, Las Vegas for road improvement work within the national park Service land.  The duration of the project is from June 1st through August 2009. 

Responsibilities will include conducting preconstruction clearance surveys and biological compliance monitoring for desert tortoise.  This position will require extensive time outside during Summer. 

Requirements for this position include completion of an undergraduate degree in biology or related field and a willingness to work in a construction environment.  Knowledge of desert tortoise biology and experience is highly desirable.  Candidates must have good communication skills, and prepare clearly written field data forms.  Work assignments would include working approximately 40 hours a week.   

A rental vehicle will be provided during work assignments.
