2012 Charles Koob Litigation Fellow
The Natural Resources Defense Council, Inc. (NRDC), is a leading nonprofit environmental group with more than 1.2 million members and online activists. NRDC is seeking a recent law school graduate to be a Charles Koob Environmental Litigation Fellow. This two-year position is available starting in September 2012. The fellow will work on litigation in federal and/or state courts to address significant environmental problems such as air and water pollution, public health threats, harms to natural resources, and environmental injustices. NRDC litigates on behalf of its own members and with a range of coalition partners including neighborhood associations, regional grassroots organizations, and environmental, labor, and public health groups.
The Fellow will work under the direction of senior attorneys and with other NRDC staff on all phases of litigation, from case development through trial and appeals. The Fellow may also engage in some administrative advocacy, policy research, and legislative analysis.
The Fellow will be located in either NRDC’s San Francisco or Washington, DC, office.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have graduated from law school within the past three years. Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills are required. Relevant litigation experience, such as a federal court clerkship, is highly valued, as is a demonstrated commitment to nonprofit lawyering.
Salary:
