Junior Commercial and Legal Consultant

Join us and become Junior Commercial and Legal Consultant in our business function Project Development, which is part of Renewables, a large and rapidly growing business unit with 725 employees.

We are also one of the leading developers of offshore wind projects in the United Kingdom.

You will be joining a newly established support function, Strategy and Performance, with eight committed colleagues with various skills and educational backgrounds. We focus on improving and optimising the development of wind farm projects. You will participate in our work on generating steady-flow project opportunities and developing projects towards final investment decisions.

You will be based at our new office in Gentofte near Copenhagen. However, you should expect some business travels.

Areas of responsibility

You will report to the head of Strategy and Performance. Your primary focus will be to prepare agreements with other energy companies and developers on joint development, construction and operation of offshore wind farms and implementation of best practices across projects in various jurisdictions.

Furthermore, your key duties will be to:

• assist the senior commercial and legal consultant, the M&A team and the legal team with drafting and negoting partnership agreements, key policies and other required supporting documents in relation to new partnerships
• provide ad hoc advise to project managers on the interpretation of partnership agreements
• prepare reviews of various commercial project agreements across jurisdictions, including eg land agreements, cable crossing, site leases and grid connection agreements as well as participate in the negotiation of project agreements
• improve Project Development’s approach to technical and commercial due diligence of new project opportunities across markets and participate in drafting of investment recommendations and other management decision papers.

Your profile

You will hold a relevant legal degree, corresponding to eg the Danish educations cand.jur. or cand.merc.jur.

Additionally, you will have a few years of professional experience, eg from a law firm or from a large international company. It will be beneficial if you also have experience with due diligence processes.

As we are an international company and work closely together with our colleagues abroad, it will be essential for both positions that you speak and write both Danish and English fluently.

Furthermore, you will have good communication skills and be able to present and communicate complex matters in a professional and straightforward way to your colleagues and business partners.

It is essential that you are a dynamic professional capable of finding both constructive and practical solutions to commercial, operational and legal challenges. Additionally, you will have interpersonal skills and be wishing to share your knowledge and expertise with your colleagues to contribute actively to the development of the field.
