Description

The AXA Research Fund annually grants post-doctoral fellowships to students wishing to do a post-doc in one of the Member States of the European Union.

The Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Climate Change (CMCC) encourages and supports candidates to apply for two post-doc fellowships financed by the AXA Research  Fund (ARF) to undertake a post-doc project on themes related to climate change & associated risks and impacts at CMCC premises in Italy.

The post-doc funding is for a period of 12 months.

The candidates must have completed their Ph.D or are close to its completion.

Interested candidates must send the following documents (in English) to <job@cmcc.it> by the 30th of June  2009 :

  • Detailed description of  the post-doc project (20 pages maximum)
  • One detailed CV and one signed cover letter
  • One original signed recommendation letter (pdf format), preferably from the candidate's Ph. D. Advisor
  • Any additional materials illustrating the applicant's research work (e.g. summary of thesis, excerpts from any publications or releases, etc.)

The two most promising candidates will be selected by CMCC according  to the following criteria :

  1. The academic excellence of the candidates, assessed on the basis of the topic of his/her Ph.D. project; the transcripts of the master's level; and the excellence of the premaster's curriculum and transcripts;
  2. The originality of the Ph.D. project, its feasibility, and the impacts of its potential results.
The two selected candidates will be then contacted by CMCC by the first week of July for completing the application procedure to the AXA Research Fund (deadline July 24th).
