Description

Are you interest in marine conservation? Do you want to learn more and work as part of an international team in a global marine conservation organization?

Oceana Baltic Sea office is looking for an intern with knowledge in marine biology

Oceana is looking for a (marine) biology student to work as an intern at our office in Copenhagen. Oceana is the largest international organization working solely with protections of the sea, and therefore you should have an interest and at least some knowledge about marine biology. During the at sea expeditions in Kattegat and the Baltic Sea we have gathered lots of underwater footage, recorded by Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) and scuba divers. The main task of the intern would be to organize this data, review the videos, do species identification (to the level feasible) and record the findings. You will get the relevant training and help from our marine scientist. Other tasks might also appear based on the individual’s skills and interests. Furthermore, it is possible to use data for a project/course or similar if so aspired.

This internship will give a great opportunity to acquire knowledge and information about the benthic organisms in Danish waters and elsewhere in the Baltic Sea and the status of these environments, which can be useful for your future career. You will also obtain in-depth outlook into the work of an international environmental organization.

If you are interested, please send us a letter of motivation and a CV within 1st May to baltic@oceana.org

The start of the internship will be as soon as possible after the deadline.
