Hydrologist Job Summary:

Our Clients are leading multidisciplinary consultancies, providing services to the property, infrastructure, civil engineering, environmental and energy sectors.

Due to a healthy pipeline of projects, they are currently looking to strengthen their hydrology teams with experienced Senior Hydrologists/ Hydraulic Modellers/ Engineers, specifically in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects from flood risk assessments at individual sites to catchment-wide hydrological studies.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities of Hydrologist:

• Hydraulic modelling, hydrological analysis and drainage design
• Supervision and guidance of junior staff members
• Liaising with other members of the Flood Risk Management Team to deliver an efficient service
• Business development and preparation of marketing submissions
• Liaison with regulators and other stakeholders
• Project management and liaison with private and public sector clients

Qualifications / Experience of Hydrologist:

• BSc and/ or MSc/ MEng in a relevant discipline
• At or working towards Chartered Membership (ICE/ CIWEM or equivalent)
• Experience in modelling river or coastal environments using industry software packages (InfoWorks RS/ICM, MIKE 11/21/Flood, ISIS 2D/Tuflow)
• Experience of managing spatial datasets (ArcGIS or similar)
• Knowledge of UK and Irish government clients responsible for the delivery and procurement of flood risk management services
• An interest in generating business in this sector
• Full driving licence
