Head Ranger

We are looking for a permanent Head Ranger to lead a team responsible for the daily operations of Grafham Water Park. 
The role is all about managing and developing the park, therefore we’re looking for someone to drive excellent customer service, 
health and safety, and increase the popularity of this fantastic site.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain our site infrastructure, ensuring park buildings are in a clean and safe condition,
• Plan and organise events to attract visitors to the sites.
• Recruit temporary staff for the peak season, coordinate a team of volunteers.
• Plan workloads and rotas and have line management responsibility.
• Manage the car parks as well as enforcing bylaws.
• Ensure that the park is presented well for our customers at all times.
• Develop the Grafham fishery; managing fish deliveries, evaluating catch data, maintaining the 50 fishing boats, promotion for fishing competitions.

Requirements:
• Educated to HND level or equivalent in a rural/leisure/countryside/fishery management discipline or a strong background in rural leisure or fishery work.
• Knowledge of fishery, events, the countryside, customer service, managing people and budget management.
• A commercial focus and knowledge of budget management.
• Customer service and health and safety experience, an interest in environment,
• A flexible and proactive approach to work coupled with an ability to work as part of a multi skilled team and undertake physical tasks.

Grafham Water Park is a 7 day per week operation and all our staff are public facing. A willingness to work unsocial hours and regular weekends and bank holidays is essential to the role. A full driving licence for this role is required.
