Description

Carbon Trust Implementation Services is a new commercial subsidiary of the Carbon Trust, launched in April 2011.  It aims to close the gap between identification and implementation of energy savings opportunities by addressing key client barriers, such as lack of technical, market and procurement expertise, resources and funding to procure energy efficient equipment. It provides two core services:

• An Energy Efficiency Financing scheme delivered in partnership with Siemens Financial Services which provides a range of financing products including loans and leases for energy efficiency and renewable projects

• Implementation Services procurement support for energy efficiency projects.  This offering supports customers who have energy efficiency opportunities, helping them to engage with qualified suppliers who can provide good quality proposals with clear business cases and justified savings.
With its well-known, independent brand, the Carbon Trust has the necessary energy efficiency and accreditation experience to significantly expand the energy efficiency marketplace, unlocking attractive capital projects.

Main duties include:

• Setting and maintaining supplier accreditation standards (and associated stakeholder engagement)
• Acquisition of suppliers to join accreditation scheme
• Management of supplier quality and performance issues
• Management of technical issues arising from client facing activities
• Management of 3rd party accreditation partner (or in house accreditation team)
• Support to General Manager on acquisition of value added service providers
• Provision of technical / energy efficiency training to IS team

Key skills:

• Strong technical knowledge of main low carbon buildings and process technologies, their applications, design considerations and associated performance standards
• Familiarity with  main low carbon technology equipment suppliers (ideally based on established relationships)
• Proven ability to manage third party contractors
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills – comfortability in presenting to and developing relationships with suppliers and trade bodies.

Qualifications and experience:

• Significant experience of energy efficiency in corporate / consulting environment
• Experience of standard setting / accreditation desirable
• First class degree or equivalent in a technical discipline (postgraduate qualification desirable but not essential)
