We continuously seek new ways of adding value through innovation and partnerships and hence growing our Commercial business. We have identified that the renewables sector is one of the most promising sectors for revenue and profit growth and hence we are recruiting a new Head.

The Head of Renewables reports to the Executive Head of Business Development. The job holder directs a team and cross office effort in ensuring that the Met Office maximises the opportunities from the worldwide growth of renewables and thereby delivering growth in revenue and profit. • Develop and manage the P&L for the renewables area - delivering top and bottom-line growth.
  • Define and establish an organisational structure based on directly and indirectly managed resources drawn from across the Met Office, and work with the Executive Team and other colleagues to ensure that the strategy is professionally and effectively executed.
  • Establish and execute an international market entry plan - making use of NMS's and agents in other countries to deliver profitable revenue.
  • Ensure that the applied science necessary to take relevant weather and climate science through to products and services is defined and properly resourced.
  • Own key relationships with senior stakeholders/customers in the renewables sector. Act as a spokesperson for the Met Office in this sector.
  • Establish the Met Office as the world leader in the delivery of renewables weather and climate services.
