Head of Operations

Join one of the leading companies in Europe within the fields of developing, constructing

and operating onshore and offshore wind farms.

 

We have more than 30 years of experience in wind power, and up to 20 per cent of our power

is produced from renewable resources. Our business is based on producing, distributing and

trading energy and related products in Northern Europe. We are also one of the leading

developers of offshore wind projects in the UK.

 

We are recruiting for two Head of Operations, one for our Barrow Offshore Wind Farm and another for our Walney Offshore Wind Farm both located in Barrow-in-Furness.

 

Areas of responsibility

You will have overall strategic management responsibility for the wind farm site and be responsible for growing the business through operations activities. This will include being responsible for financial management as well as budgeting and reporting. You will create and maintain site based business plans and maintain a rolling 12 month scheduled activity plan and develop new site business initiatives.

 

Furthermore, your key duties will include:

 

  • manage relationships with joint venture partners including chairing monthly contract meetings with partners
  • networking with counterparts on other wind farm sites across the business
  • accountable for Quality Health Safety and Environment on the wind farm site
  • responsible people management including recruitment, succession planning and training and development.

 

Your profile

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in operations management, preferably gained in engineering or utilities management. You will have proven experience of management and leadership including coordinating activities and resources. You will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of finance, technology and administration. It is essential that you can demonstrate evidence of strong analytical and organisational skills.  You will also be comfortable working under pressure and as part of a team.
