Can you motivate a team of highly skilled employees, do you have strong negotiation skills and would you like to drive the development and implementation of an optimum and standardised O&M set-up into some of the largest construction projects within offshore wind? Join us and become our new Head of Operation Preparation Projects in our department Operation Preparation Projects, which is part of Global Operations, a large and rapidly growing business unit. You will be reporting to the Director of Global Operations Support and will be based in London. Initially, you will have to travel frequently for on-boarding purposes. Following this initial period, you should expect some travelling to our other sites and partner sites in the UK and in Europe in relation to your work. The majority of preparation projects up till 2020 will be in UK, Germany, France and Denmark and travel between these countries should be expected. You will be joining one of the leading energy companies in Europe. Our business is based on producing, distributing and trading energy and related products in Northern Europe. We are the world’s largest constructor, owner and operator if offshore wind power plants . We have experienced significant growth over recent years and we face exciting new challenges in the future across our expanding portfolio. Areas of responsibility Your areas of responsibility will include the development and implementation of a standardised O&M setup into our offshore construction projects and thereby be a key player in reducing Cost of Electricity in the O&M phase. Moreover, you will manage the Operation Preparation team and ensure that the wind power plant operational set-up is in place in due time, within budget and to the agreed scope, specifications and quality. Generally, you will continuously manage project expectations with internal and external stakeholders and resolve possible issues in the project team. Furthermore, your key duties will be to:
Your profile You will have a relevant educational background, for example a MSc Degree in Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent. Additionally, you will have relevant experience with project management and be able to draw on experience, knowledge and competences equivalent to IPMA, level B, or PMI PMP. You will have excellent communication skills, and as a team player you will communicate well with colleagues at all organisational levels. It is essential that you have good English proficiencies and speak and write English fluently. As we are developing our market in Germany and France, German and French speaking abilities would also be of benefit. You will have a strong personal drive and are able to create consensus on a common objective. Additionally, you can motivate a group of skilled team members and influence them to act positively and take responsibility for their task performance while meeting project deadlines. We expect that you have experience from working in multi-disciplinary teams. It will be beneficial if you have experience from the wind power industry, conventional power generation or with managing the transfer from construction to service/operations phase. You will be a dynamic professional and be able to find both constructive and practical solutions to all kinds of operational and technical challenges. Additionally, you will be a proactive player who gets best practises down on paper and share your knowledge and expertise with your colleagues in order to contribute actively to the standardisation, development and improvements within the field of offshore wind farms.
