Great Mekong Program Manger

Full-time Position

 

Conservation International-Greater Mekong Program (CI) has worked in Cambodia since 2002.  CI has multiple conservation projects and the primary conservation projects are Central Cardamom Protected Forest Project (CCPF), Tonele Sap Fresh Water Project, Gibbon and Ecotourism Project in Voeun Sai district, Rattanakiri Province where CI works in partnership with the Forestry and Fisheries Administrations and also with other non-profit organizations.

CI is seeking an experienced Greater Mekong Program Manager who will report to the Executive Director; this position is based in Phnom Penh, but requires spending 20% travel for field work, supporting field projects.

Key duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitoring program quality control through standardized systems and reporting.
  • Create systems and analyze data from them to track and evaluate our progress and impact over time.
  • Compile and analyze data relevant for assessing effectiveness of our program strategy.
  • Report results to CI Greater Mekong and CI institutional leadership.
  • Develop new technical reports as well as media and other opportunities to increase CI’s profile and better showcase our results.
  • Help Senior Technical Director to write proposals and donor reports, also working directly with the Greater Mekong program staff.
  • Provide other support as needed/designated related to donor and partner management.
  • Mentor recently promoted Cambodian national staff to help them grow into Project Managers, coaching them on how to be successful in their roles and ensure overall project implementation and delivery.
  • Develop new business/partnerships, proposal opportunities, and support programmatic growth along one or more policy or programmatic subject areas currently being pursued by CI-Greater Mekong of interest (REDD/PES, freshwater management, forest policy, CBD.
  • Communications and strong ability to work as part of a team and motivate others who are not direct reports

 

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resource management or development related field (Master’s preferred)
  • At least 5 years’ experience working with NGOs
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating programs
  • Experience designing and managing data and information systems.
  • English fluency (written and spoken)
