Graduate Policy and Commercial Analyst (Full-Time)

Location: Solihull Town Centre, West Midlands

Closing Date: 12 June 2015

Package: Competitive + benefits and 23 days annual leave

Interested in shaping the sustainable energy agenda?

Ambitious to work directly with energy industry leaders and policy makers?

Overview:

Ecuity Consulting LLP is a growing consultancy specialising in strategy, regulation and policy affecting the sustainable energy sector in the UK. The company works with political and business leaders to develop commercial propositions and policy contributing to the transition to a low carbon economy. Ecuity’s mission is to make sustainable energy mainstream by using unique strategic insight to connect the commercial day to day reality of running a business and the political challenges of sustainable energy policy making.

Our clients include energy suppliers, global manufacturers and the cleantech investment community. As the business continues to grow, we are looking to appoint a Graduate Analyst to work full time from our vibrant new office located in Solihull town centre.

The Role:

The successful applicant will be a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with strong analytical skills and an interest in the low carbon economy. A high degree of numeracy and confidence with data manipulation is essential. The role will require the completion of diverse assignments working with industry and government to evaluate, model and support the commercial, financial and political viability of low carbon investment propositions and commercial trends.

Requirements:

  • Academic background: relevant degree at postgraduate or graduate level in business administration, economics, politics or any science discipline; some relevant experience may be beneficial but not necessary for this role.
  • Analytical skills: strong analytical/quantitative skills to conduct commercial and economic appraisal of business models and policies; ability to convert this analysis into easily understood discourse and present it to internal and external audiences.
  • Modelling skills: capability across the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel to carry out basic economic analysis.
  • Organisation and flexibility: ability to handle competing priorities/deadlines and cope with occasional anti-social working hours (typically evenings rather than weekends) and regular travel to London.
  • Teamwork: capacity to operate as a team player working co-operatively with colleagues at all business levels and demanding clients.

Personal development is at the centre of our philosophy and the successful candidate should anticipate considerable exposure working in co-ordination with government and industry leaders shaping the future of the low carbon economy.
