Graduate Environmental Consultant (Leeds Environment) 

Grontmij are looking for Graduate Environmental Consultants to work effectively to support the company's environmental services as part of a team.

Outline of role

  • Provide consultancy services in relation to geological/ environmental issues by undertaking both office and site based work.
  • Prepare and assist in the preparation of desk study, site investigation, risk assessment and validation reports.
  • Site supervision and routine monitoring during groundwater/ environmental site investigations.
  • Training to manage small projects.  Develop the ability to undertake financial management of project tasks by acting as a task manager.
  • Develop skills in contaminated land investigation and risk assessment.
  • Develop skills in Qualitative and Quantitative risk assessment.
  • Assist in proposal writing.
  • Where appropriate, and subject to competence assessment, assist as and when with site work (site investigation, gas and groundwater monitoring for contaminated land and landfill projects).
  • Report to Line Manager.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, including screening and targeting of potential clients.
  • To manage the use and calibration of field equipment.


Qualifications required
Qualified to degree level, preferably to MSc level in a relevant environmental science.

Experience required
Some work experience in an Environmental Consultancy is desirable.

  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met
  • Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions

  • Demonstrate pride in work, through accurate timely delivery
  • Be well organised and systematic
