Job Summary:

Following a successful year and a promising order book for 2014, our client are looking to grow their London based Ecology Consultancy, though the addition of a GIS Consultant and a Senior GIS Consultant into their in-house mapping team.  You will work in the bustling London office, supporting an established and expanding team to process ecological data for a range of external public and private clients.

Responsibilities:

You will have the opportunity to:

• Liaise with the wider ecology team to provide survey data support
• Process ecological survey data
• Provide survey results in GIS format (habitat maps and plans) to an exceptional standard
• Work autonomously whilst contributing to a successful team.

In addition to the above, the Senior GIS Consultant will also;

• Mentor junior team members
• Get involved in research and development initiatives surround the environmental GIS market
• Provide input to tenders and proposals and contribute to business development of the GIS team.

Qualifications / Experience:

 Ideal candidates will have:

• A related BSc degree e.g., GIS, geography, ecology, planning
• Sound technical knowledge and experience in the use of a variety of GIS software including ArcView, Map Info and AutoCAD.
• Experience of undertaking spatial planning and analysis, including point data
• Strong Communication skills and experience of liaising with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure effective project delivery.
