SAVE THE RHINO TRUST
seeks to employ the following senior member of staff, in order to strengthen its fundraising, governance and communications work:

FUNDRAISING MANAGER
Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will be stationed in Swakopmund and be responsible for the following KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • Extending and coordinating the SRT Patron’s group
  • Stakeholder liaison
  • Developing and managing SRT’s communication strategy
  • Managing media pertaining to SRT’s image (including the SRT website or media projects)
  • Providing senior level input on SRT’s strategic positioning action plans
  • Grant application and administration which ensures fund accountability
  • Marketing, Sales & Customer Liaison (shared function)
  • Liaison and marketing innovations

REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate should:

  • posses a tertiary qualification in either of the following disciplines, namely natural or conservation sciences, communication or marketing, commerce (including management), teaching or should have an extensive senior level tourism or conservation background. All applicants should preferably possess about 8-10 years’ applicable experience  
  • be passionate about conserving wildlife and ecology in general
  • have a track record of having worked with business and public sector leaders
  • have had additional training in media liaison, writing of grant applications and budgeting and reporting on use of funds
  • have an excellent command of English and preferably also have communication level skills in another European language such as French, German or Spanish

Preference will be given to Namibian Citizens, although suitably qualified candidates in possession of a Permanent Residence Permit will also be considered.
