The Climate Group is looking for a candidate to establish and oversee a new engagement program with financial institutions in Greater China. You will be the main point of interface between The Climate Group and our corporate members in the finance sector in China.
Among other things, the Finance Sector Program Manager will be expected to: • Develop and lead a robust engagement strategy with existing and new corporate members in China’s finance sector to assist and accelerate their climate change leadership. • Recruit new members from Chinese financial institutions • Develop recommendations for policy makers on how to overcome existing barriers to investment in low carbon solutions. • Develop our outreach to a wider group of leading businesses to facilitate the development and take up of financial mechanisms and investment vehicles that accelerate investment in low carbon solutions.
Required experience and skills include: • University education with 3-5 years work experience working for a financial institution or consulting firm focused on servicing the finance sector; • Understanding of climate change, energy and environment issues; • Natural ability to form and develop relationships with business and Government senior executives; • Excellent analytical and communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and English • Willingness to travel.
