Immerse yourself in practical fieldwork techniques covering a variety of qualitative and quantitative sampling strategies. Rusty on species frequency? Vague about line and belt transects? This one-day course will change all that. The programme is designed for those with little or no experience of sampling techniques to those who want to brush up this skill-set. Other topics covered may include:

* CMRR (Capture-mark-release-recapture)
* density, frequency and precentage cover
* random sampling using quadrats
* freshwater invertebrate sampling
* appropriate equipment and equipment limitations
* abiotic and biotic measuring
* which, and when, sampling strategy to deploy

This course starts from 09:45 to 15:30 using fieldwork sites in and around the Centre grounds. Course price includes pub lunch.
