Description |
Faculty of Biological Sciences School of Biology Field Assistant Fixed Term for 4 months, Available from 1 May 2015 We are seeking to appoint a highly competent field assistant to survey insect pollinators in West Yorkshire over the coming spring and summer. The work will involve recording insect pollinators at selected sites each month, using standardised monitoring protocols. Processing insect specimens, helping with smaller projects aimed at methods refinement and engagement with volunteer recorders will also be required. The work is part of a project to help design a national pollinator and pollination monitoring scheme, commissioned by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). You will have a proven ability to work with insects and plants and a good working knowledge and experience of identifying pollinating insects and potentially British wildflowers. You will have a full, current and valid UK/EU driving licence as you will be required to travel to, from and between the selected sites along public roads. University Grade 2 (£13,953 - £15,356 p.a.)
