Description

Would you like to take up the challenges of executing our WTG installations?

Join us as one of our Wind Turbine Installation Managers in our WTG installation department where you will help coordinate, drive and execute multiple areas of our installation operations.

The department is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You may choose freely to be based either at one of our Danish offices in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or in Skærbæk near Fredericia or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom or our Hamburg office in Germany on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Your key duties will be to

  • work with the WTG product line group and WTG lead specialist to provide portfolio savings and improvements for the execution of our WTG installation
  • analyse the installation of offshore wind turbines during the execution phase
  • understand the interfaces between the WTG supplier, the installation vessel contractor and the marine warranty surveyor
  • maintain contacts and exchange information with the various WTG installation vessel contractors and WTG suppliers
  • analyse and optimise the deck layout and installation set up at a portfolio level.
Furthermore, you will be managing the WTG installation vessel contract and the WTG supplier during delivery, load out and installation of WTGs offshore. You share knowledge and information with the line management team and lead specialist, assist monitoring and troubleshooting and facilitate resource management. Making recommendations for the Wind Turbine Supply Agreements and acting as WTG scope main point of contact with the Marine Warranty Surveyor is also part of your duties.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you
  • have a relevant bachelor’s or equivalent qualification in wind energy, engineering or a marine engineering. GWO offshore access and safety training during offshore construction will be required, although equivalent qualifications can be considered and we will refresh any that are out of date
  • have experience, knowledge and/or qualifications in LOLER and CDM regulations, or equivalent Danish or German legislation
  • have prior experience of holding a key role in a construction project, e.g. (but not limited to) installation manager, installation engineer or project engineer
  • have offshore experience, ideally within naval architecture, marine construction, WTG installation, offshore engineering, marine contracting etc
  • speak and write English fluently.

In addition, you are team-oriented and safety and quality-focused as well as numerate. You have strong organisation skills and you are a competent user of Microsoft Office. Additionally you can speak and write Danish or German, however this is not essential. Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera and Synergi would be advantageous. You must be able to travel to our other sites and partner sites primarily in the UK, Holland, France, Germany and Denmark. You must also be willing to work offshore for short periods during the construction phase.

We offer
An unique and challenging job where you have every opportunity to develop your skills, when you work on some of the world's largest offshore wind projects.

In DONG Energy Wind Power, we have a high level of expertise and many complex and challenging work tasks. We work with some of the world's largest offshore wind projects and we are committed to reducing the cost of electricity.
