Job title: Environmental Scientist

Location: Surrey

Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 DOE (Pro rata)

Term: 3 month FTC. Potential to extend

 

Job Summary:

The opportunity exists for an Environmental Scientist to join a global engineering consultancy in their Surrey based Environment team. With a substantial order book of project work throughout the UK, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to join an established and successful team, initially on a 3 month fixed term contract with potential to extend should current work levels continue.

 

Responsibilities:

The Environmental Scientist will:

  • Coordinate a variety of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects including those within the water and energy sector
  • Preparation and project management of Screening and Scoping reports and Environmental Statements
  • Have the opportunity to assist others within the environmental team with Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), Environmental Auditing, Ecological Surveys and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) where appropriate.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

The ideal EIA candidates will possess:

  • An appropriate degree and IEMA Membership
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking EIA project work within a consultancy team.
  • A thorough understanding of EIA, including best practice guidelines, planning processes and environmental assessment methods
  • Excellent report writing, communication and project management skills
  • A full UK driving licence
