Description

Join Britain’s biggest walking charity, working to help more people enjoy the benefits of walking.

We are looking for a highly-skilled engagement assistant, who is as passionate about Scotland’s outdoors as we are.

In this new role, you will provide support for all of Ramblers Scotland’s communication and engagement activities. This will involve administrative tasks as part of Ramblers Scotland’s bulk email, website, press and social media communications – with a particular focus on content creation and digital community management.

As well as supporting our day-to-day work, you will help deliver engaging digital content to support our exciting new Out There campaign, which aims to help more people make the most of Scotland’s amazing landscapes and access rights.

Working closely with our communications and engagement officer, you will also help handle other communications, as well as working with many colleagues and volunteers within our Scottish office, and across the Ramblers.

We need an individual with strong communication and organisational skills, who is excited by the thought of encouraging more people to share their love of outdoor recreation.

We see this as a broad role with plenty of support and opportunity to develop your skills. It’s good entry level position, and an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or someone looking to get started in the exciting world of charity communications.

This position is part of the Scottish office, reporting to our communications and engagement officer.

This is an exciting time to join the Ramblers team and a great opportunity to make a lasting and tangible impact on the future success of the charity.

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience of social media and understanding of, or willingness to learn, about the management of online communities and content creation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide range of people.
  • Ability to tailor work to existing brand guidelines.
  • An appreciation of how to engage different audiences, according to their needs.
  • Good IT literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced team.
  • Understanding of, or a willingness to learn about, outdoor recreation issues.

The Ramblers are an equal opportunities employer.  We warmly welcome applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community and aim to promote diversity.

The Ramblers are an equal opportunities employer, the equal opps form can be found here – Equal Opps Monitoring Form (WEBLINK)

Applications should be sent by email to recruitment@ramblers.org.uk
