The World Future Council (WFC) is a new global forum comprising 50 respected individuals from around the world (www.worldfuturecouncil.org). It draws on our shared human values to champion the rights of future generations, and works to ensure that humanity acts now for a sustainable future. The World Future Council identifies and promotes successful policies, uses existing networks and challenges decision makers everywhere to implement legislation that leads to a sustainable and peaceful future.  Description:  Volunteer intern wanted until May 2009 to work in the London office with our Energy and Climate team on the following topics:·         deployment of renewable energies in the UK and in Eastern Europe, ·         development of an online tool for best policies to enhance energy efficiency (PACT)·         campaign for a moratorium on drilling in the Arctic. The intern will work very closely with the London based policy officer and with other team members in Germany and Brussels. Tasks include research, drafting of policy papers, preparing speeches and presentations, compiling campaign updates and texts for the website. The intern will have the opportunity to participate in internal and external meetings and present the World Future Council in conferences and other events.   Applicants should be able to work a minimum of three days per week. This is a great opportunity to gain professional experience in the NGO sector, excellent contacts and new knowledge on varied topics. Expenses will be covered each month. Profile: ·         Research experience·         Very good English writing and communications skills·         Knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency policy or related field preferable·         Ability to work to deadlines·         Polish language skills are a valuable asset
