Altanova Energy+Sustainability is growing rapidly, and we currently have Energy Engineer internship positions open in our New York office.
Candidates should have a first academic or professional energy efficiency engineering experience with industrial manufacturing operations, commercial building systems, and building energy modeling. We are looking for candidates that have experience in several of the following areas:
• Energy Efficiency and Building Energy Modeling and Simulation (EQuest/DOE2 or EnergyPlus)
• Analytical Modeling, Analysis and Comprehensive Energy Assessment
• Building Science: Envelope and HVAC System Assessment
• Building Commissioning/Retro-Commissioning Services
• High Performance and Green/LEED Buildings
• Industrial Process Efficiency and Productivity
• Renewable Energy Technologies (photovoltaics, wind, distributed generation, etc.)
Successful applicants will have the capability to progressively conduct site surveys, perform quantitative analysis to support advanced modeling and computer simulation, research and understand new technologies and process and prepare reports detailing analytical findings. Also, candidates with the ability to work in a team and to learn quickly in an environment requiring both strong theoretical background and deep pragmatism are encouraged to apply.
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, physics or equivalent is required. A Master's degree is a plus. Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills are mandatory.
Altanova offers an initial compensation between $10-$15/hour. Depending on qualifications and potential, this hourly wage will evolve quickly. The internship is to start ASAP. Over time, this internship can become a full time position.
