Description

Groundwork Hertfordshire is part of a UK-wide network of Trusts that builds sustainable communities in areas of need.  Through collaborative environmental action we deliver regeneration projects with residents, businesses, schools and other local organisations to improve the quality of life across Hertfordshire.

Our ground-breaking environmental education portfolio is expanding quickly and we are seeking a highly motivated individual to help drive the programme forward. We work with all elements of the education sector in both formal and informal settings.  We work with schools & young people generally in a variety of ways and whether you are delivering one of our acclaimed “Grow Global” (healthy eating) after schools projects, implementing a school grounds improvement scheme, linking schools to local businesses or working with children and young people with special needs in a natural outdoor play setting your work will reflect the creativity and enthusiasm that’s key to everything we do. This post represents a fantastic opportunity to be involved in education within formal and extended schools settings with great flexibility in terms of projects and working hours.  You will also have ample scope for innovation and we’ll make sure you’re given all the support and guidance you need to really take your career forward.

Environmental Education Officer - £20,817 to £23,887

With experience in an education setting and preferably a teaching qualification, as well as the ability to engage children and young people effortlessly, you’ll have the flair to deliver relevant and engaging projects that make a difference to their immediate surroundings and the global environment.
