Job Summary:

Our client is a leading environmental consultancy, seeking to appoint two Ecology Consultants into their Cambridgeshire based team.

The successful candidates will ideally have at least one relevant EPS survey licence and experience carrying out ecological surveys. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive company, providing services to developers, utility companies and the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The Ecology Consultants will:

• Plan and carry out a range of ecological surveys (including extended Phase 1 Habitat surveys and Ecocheck surveys).
• Compile applications for protected species licenses.
• Undertake desk studies, research, consultations and data management.
• Compile reports using survey findings.
• Liaise with clients and statutory bodies.
• Provide input to ecological sections of Environmental Impact Assessments.
• Assist with writing quotes and tenders and identifying prospective clients.

The position will require flexible working with regard to time and location, with some weekend working necessary as required.

If you are a more experienced Ecology Consultant, you will also have the opportunity to;

• Manage a range of ecological surveys on small and medium sized projects.
• Act as ecological clerk of works.
• Mentor junior ecologists and oversee their work.
• Attend client meetings.

Qualifications / Experience:

The Ecology Consultants will have:

• A degree in a related discipline
• A full driving licence
• At least one relevant EPS survey licence

Desirable:

• Full membership of CIEEM (or be working towards this).
• Experience of working on ecology contracts for utilities companies.
• Proven experience of sales and business development.
