Ecologist/Senior Ecologist - Sustainability Team

Job Summary:

A leading global engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Ecologist to complement the expanding sustainability group. This is an excellent opportunity for an ecological consultant with a desire to broaden their experience within sustainable design, and to be part of the multidisciplinary team delivering diverse projects within the public and private sector.

 Responsibilities:

Your brief will include;

• Undertaking desk top and field surveys for protected species as part of Environmental Impact assessments, due diligence studies, CfSH and BREEAM assessments.
• Advising major property clients, leading architects, planners and building design teams on sustainability issues.
• Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and on individual assignments.

 Qualifications / Experience:

Essential;

• Relevant degree or Masters Degree
• Relevant ecological survey experience within a range of habitat types
• Proven field experience of undertaking Phase 1 surveys
• Sound knowledge and field experience of a variety of habitat types
• Experience of undertaking NVC surveys
• Good presentation and report writing skills

 Desirable;

• “Suitably qualified ecologist” status and Chartered member of a relevant institution.
