Job Summary:

We are assisting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy with the appointment of a consultant who will play a role in the delivery of Ecology and EIA project work.  The ideal candidate will come from an Ecological or EIA background and have demonstrable experience of undertaking species and habitat surveys.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the EIA and development planning team and get involved with project management and project delivery of EIAs.  As part of your role you will gain exposure to a wide range of projects, spanning a variety of sectors including masterplanning, regeneration and development delivery.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities: 

The successful Ecologist/EIA consultant will:

  • Undertake species and habitat surveys such as Extended Phase 1 Habitat surveys and Bat surveys
  • Produce technical ecological reports including Ecological Impact Assessments and European Protected Species licence applications.
  • Design and implement mitigation and enhancement strategies. 

Qualifications / Experience:

The successful Ecologist/EIA consultant will have:

  • A degree in ecology or a related subject
  • Membership of a professional body and proven consultancy experience
  • A thorough, working knowledge of UK ecology and EIA legislation
  • A Protected Species License and experience in surveying at least one of the following:
    • Bats
    • Reptiles
    • Great crested newts
  • A full UK Driving licence
