Ecologist

Job Summary:

An opportunity exists for an Ecologist who’s keen to work on stimulating projects to join a supportive multidisciplinary environmental consultancy in the Leicestershire team.  You will be a key member of the Ecology Team, supporting them with a wide range of work including field surveys, EIA and HRA projects.  This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ecologist to begin to further their career with a supportive and dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

As an Ecologist you will:

• Undertake field surveys of sites awaiting development
• Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments
• Become involved in stakeholder / public consultation events
• Supporting graduate ecologists
• Running your own ecology projects and preparing / delivering briefs for other colleagues

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

• Degree in relevant field
• Demonstrable experience of delivery of reports on time and within a budget
• Good understanding of UK Ecological legislation and the planning process
• Ability to produce accurate habitat and NVC surveys
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience of working within a team including designers, developers and regulators
• Excellent attention to detail
