Job Summary:

 

Our Ecological Consultancy client is seeking to employ an Ecologist with specific Botany expertise to join their established London team.  You will be joining the largest dedicated ecology consultancy in London and will have the opportunity to work for a variety of clients in London and across the South East, including individual home owners, architects and landscape architects, planning consultants and engineers, statutory agencies and local authorities.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

 

As part of your brief as an Ecologist you will;

  • Carry out a range of habitat related work including acting as a project manager for extended Phase 1 habitat surveys, Code/BREEAM assessments and advising on ecological mitigation and enhancement works.
  • Carry out specialist surveys and reports such as Phase 2 botanical surveys (NVC), hedgerow surveys, river corridor surveys and Environmental Statements/EcIA
  • Use your established consultancy skills to provide advice to clients on different habitat management techniques and green infrastructure (including green roofs, green walls and SuDS).

 

Qualifications / Experience:

 

The Ecologist will have;

  • A relevant degree
  • Demonstrable track record of working as an Ecological Consultant including producing of a range of technical reports associated with botanical and habitat surveys
  • Associate or Full CIEEM membership
  • Good botanical identification skills (FISC level 3/4)
  • Experience of undertaking extended Phase 1 habitat surveys and mapping
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • Experience in Arc View GIS and an interest in entomology would be an advantage in this post
  • A full UK driving licence.
