Job Summary:

Our award winning multi-disciplinary consultancy Client, is looking to expand their UK wide Ecology team through the appointment of an Ecologist and a Senior Ecologist into their London and Cardiff teams.  With an increasing workload and strong growth plans for 2014 this is an exciting time to join a well-established group of specialists, advising a wide range of clients; Highways Agency, Ministry of Defence; private developers and power organisations.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

Ecologists will;

• Conduct and support a variety of ecological field surveys (e.g. Phase I and II, bat surveys, greater crested newt etc.) for inclusion in Environmental Impact Assessment chapters and standalone reports

• Contribute to the delivery of projects
• Design and implement mitigation and compensations strategies
• Provide ecological advice to a range of clients.

In addition, the Senior Ecologists will also;

• Provide input to tender and bids
• Take a lead on ecological field surveys including the management of staff resources
• Produce high quality ecology deliverables on time and within budget.

Qualifications / Experience:

Ecologists will have;

• A Degree in Ecology or a related field
• Associate CIEEM membership as a minimum
• Ecology survey experience and proven Consultancy experience
• At least 1 EPS license
• An excellent track record of composing clear, concise reports
• A Full Driving licence.

In addition, the Senior Ecologists will also have;

• Significant consultancy experience and a track record of successfully managing complex and changeable projects
• Full CIEEM membership
• Protected species surveys experience
• Line management experience and evidence of successful business development.
