We are a non for profit organization that promotes a better quality of life in rural communities, trough the development of educational, communitarian, formative, sustainable sanitation and waste Management projects. What can we offer?

You will have the opportunity of getting to know from close our institution, its mission and projects in which is involved. Below you will find a list of areas in which you can participate as intern or volunteer:

Sustainable Sanitation

• Composting toilets  installation
• Composting toilets monitoring
• Composting  toilets beneficiary training
• Scientific research related to the use of compost
• Socio-political research on rural communities: surveys, focus groups, and problems analyses.

Agro-ecology and Alimentary Sovereignty

•  Monitoring of agro-ecological farmers
• Organization of Agro---ecological farmers market
• Consumers and students training
• Research in socio-political and agro-ecological subjects
• Preparation of organic fertilizers.

Person specification

Any person can apply for volunteering, with or without formal studies, as long as he/she is interested in collaborating with the different activities from the projects that the foundation develops. University students or graduates can apply for internships. Specific work subjects with objectives and responsibilities will be identified for each candidate. Subjects will be linked to the Foundations. It is expected from all candidates to have self-motivation and skills to do their jobs with efficiency and responsibility. Applications not fulfilling all program requirements will not be taken in consideration.

Time and duration

Any period can be discussed for volunteers however a minimum period of 3months is required for interns.

Cost

There is no remuneration however food and accommodation can be provided.

Requirements for Volunteers

·         Being at least 18 years old

·         To fill the volunteering application

·         To sign the “Acceptance letter for FIT’s volunteering program”

·         Non Ecuadorians volunteers will need an insurance policy and an Ecuadorian visa can be required (for a period over 3months).

Requirements for Interns

·         Being at least 18 years old.

·         Being a university student from the last years or graduated from Agronomy or Environmental engineering, Biology or related careers to Environment and/or Sustainable Development. Applications from students with different background will be assessed in more details.

·         A letter from the University of the Studying Career, mentioning the name and level of the career. Also, in the letter the University has to declare the acceptance of the internship.

·         A maximum of 650 words intention letter.

·         A recommendation letter from a professor of the studying career.

·         A copy of the University grades given by the pertinent office.

·         To fulfill the Internship applicant form and send it together with your resume to the Foundation e-mail.

·         To sign the “Acceptance letter for FIT internship program”.

·         For non-Ecuadorians interns, an insurance policy is required.
