11/07/14 - 13/07/14
This wildflower identification course, suitable both for beginners and more experienced botanists alike, is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the varied flora found in the Box Hill area. During the course you will spend time out in the beautiful local countryside around Box Hill learning the names of the wide range of wildflowers living there particularly on the chalk grassland and woodlands. There is no strenuous walking. You may be shown how to identify the various plant species, including how to identify and distinguish plants belonging to some of the more difficult families such as the Crucifers (Cabbage family) and Umbellifers (Carrot family). This is also an opportunity to enjoy seeing some of the rarer and more unusual wildflowers that are a speciality of the area. There will be ample time for wild flower photography and there will be a slide show one evening.
