Deputy Section Head: Great Apes

This section will manage all the Great Ape groups including chimpanzees, gorillas, orang- utans and the only bonobo group in the United Kingdom. This is a key role which will involve working on the section, covering all areas of animal husbandry, supervising and training staff, and deputising in the Section Head's absence.

We are seeking a high performing individual with a proven track record in zoo animal management. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience as a keeper and demonstrate a substantial working knowledge of the natural history and management of great apes. You must be committed to continued professional development of yourself and other staff. Supervisory experience as well as an animal-related qualification, such as the BIAZA approved ANCMZA or DZMAA, would be advantageous.

The role is full time, including weekend duties on a rota system. Salary is paid monthly and we provide uniform, 31 days holiday, 5% employer's pension contribution.
