An exciting opportunity within the Highways and Transport Service

Cheshire West and Chester is looking for an enthusiastic and committed person to join the Highways and Transport Service.  The post holder will contribute to the development and achievement of the Council’s Active Travel and Decarbonising Transport Programmes in support of Climate Change priorities; ensuring the actions necessary to deliver the programmes are promoted across the organisation and with partners, stakeholders, the community, business and visitors.

The successful candidate will join the Council at an exciting time, making a meaningful and positive contribution to the necessary transport changes that are required to fulfil our Climate Change Declaration. Transport will play an increasingly important role; underpinning accessibility, sustainability, health and wellbeing, economic growth and air quality.

With experience in delivering measurable outcomes within this key priority area, you will provide an excellent knowledge of policy and legislative framework, have the skills and attributes to develop the role and manage performance.  Able to demonstrate a commitment to partnership working and collaboration for a common goal, you will develop and support the delivery of a programme of smarter choices, active travel and travel planning activities.

This role is a Hybrid Flexible Worker and this means that the role will be office based for part of the week at Ellesmere Port Civic Way, Nicholas House, HQ or Wyvern House and home based part of the week as part of the Flexible and Mobile Working policy. Many services and customers span across the Borough and therefore you may be required to work at any location in Cheshire West and Chester.

For the purpose of the role, it is desirable that the jobholder holds a full clean driving licence.

The contractual work location for this role is listed above however you may be required to work from a range of work locations or sites within the Borough and may also be required to work from home, depending on the needs of the service.
