Consultant Arboriculturalist

Job Summary:

Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, looking to appoint an ambitious Consultant Arboriculturalist into their Staffordshire team.

The successful candidate will have experience of surveying to BS 5837:2012 standards and good knowledge of the EIA process. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Planners, EIA specialists, Ecologists and Heritage Consultants to provide invaluable input to a range of development work within minerals, infrastructure, commercial, industrial and residential sectors. 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

The Consultant Arboriculturalist will:

• Undertake surveys and inspections of trees, woodlands and hedgerows.
• Carry out tree risk assessments in accordance with BS 5837, using specialist software.
• Liaise with developers, architects, engineers and Local Authorities throughout the planning process.

Qualifications / Experience:

The Consultant Arboriculturalist will have:

• An FdSc or higher in Arboriculture or related topic.
• Experience in arboricultural consultancy.
• An excellent knowledge of tree pests and diseases and the ability to identify, inspect and manage trees.
• Good understanding of BS 5837:2012 and its application.
• Experience of ArborCAD and GIS.
• Membership to a relevant professional institution.
• A full clean driving license.
