Conservation Officer Gunnersbury Triangle (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £13,650 per annum (pro rata of £22,750 per annum)

Fixed Term Maternity Cover for up to 12 months (the current post holder may wish to return to work earlier)


Three days a week (This will require working 2 weekend days a month)
 

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic person to manage Gunnersbury Triangle as an outstanding example of an urban Local Nature Reserve through community engagement, co-ordinating practical site management, conserving the site’s biodiversity interests and providing a regular staff presence ensuring the reserve is safe and well-maintained. This a maternity cover contract for up to 12 months.

The successful candidate will have experience in the nature conservation sector, and in the planning and delivery of practical conservation work on nature reserves. You will have good identification skills for a range of taxa, and experience in delivering training sessions and presentations including the production of interpretive material for a range of audiences. You will have excellent communication skills, and demonstrate experience of managing volunteers and carrying out risk assessments.

London Wildlife Trust manages over forty nature reserve sites across the capital that are exemplars of urban conservation land management and which engage the local communities that use the sites. The Trust delivers projects focusing on protecting priority habitats and species in London and works to influence policy makers. The Trust engages London’s diverse communities through access to our nature reserves, volunteering programmes and education and outreach work.
