The Conservation Analyst will be responsible for guiding Rainforest Alliance’s strategy for defining areas of biodiversity significance for the Rainforest Alliance, monitoring and evaluating biodiversity and ecological results and impacts.  S/he will serve as a central expert regarding ecological and biodiversity related research, providing guidance and training materials for expanding Rainforest Alliance’s capacity to demonstrate biodiversity and ecological results and impacts.  In coordination with the broader E&R team and Rainforest Alliance programs, s/he will develop new tools and detailed methods for measuring biodiversity-related results and other ecosystem service related (e.g. soil health and water quality) impacts that facilitate learning and adaptive management of Rainforest Alliance project and certification portfolios.  S/he will coordinate with global and local research institutions and NGOs to design and implement research studies focused on evaluating the ecological and biodiversity impacts of best management practices promoted under the Sustainable Agriculture Network, Forest Stewardship Council, and credible carbon standards.  The successful candidate will also design and conduct local, regional and global biodiversity analyses to support prioritization, strategic direction and communication of the Rainforest Alliance mission attainment.
