Specific duties will include: (1) helping to identify the top ten worst proposed and existing wind energy projects in the United States from the perspective of bird conservation; (2) researching proposed wind energy development projects in Hawai'i, a sensitive area for endemic birds and writing a report on their findings; and (3) helping to collect and organize a library of critical scientific papers on wild energy development’s impacts on wildlife, particularly birds. Applicants should have a strong interest in the conservation of wildlife; good writing skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Word.  Internet access to a university library system and an ability to find and download scientific articles is essential, as is an ability to conduct research online.
