Description
Anglian Water is geographically the UK's largest water company. We provide customers with over one billion litres of high-quality drinking water every day. We're committed to investing in the sustainable development of a service that millions of people rely on. Attracting and retaining the right people is essential to our business.

The Environmental Regulation team's main role is to interpret and influence the environmental regulatory framework that the company operates in and to translate this into clear policies and operating procedures. The team negotiates the necessary legal environmental authorisations to support business activities and provides monitoring information on compliance with these. In doing this we play a key role in managing our relationship with the Environment Agency and other environmental regulators to maintain a favourable regulatory position.

In this vital role you will manage a small team responsible for negotiating and obtaining the environmental consents required in line with the company's operations. Other duties include management of a budget of around £7 million, translating and communicating regulatory requirements to a variety of audiences across the company and ensuring the team provides an expert helpdesk service in relation to environmental consenting matters. There is also the opportunity to work with industry colleagues, regulators and Government Agencies on development of emerging regulations.

Of graduate calibre, you will be a skilled team and/or project manager with proven negotiating and presenting abilities and considerable energy and drive. Relevant experience in a comparable technical environment or industry would be an advantage. Knowledge or experience of environmental regulations is desirable but not essential.
