The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) stands for ecological sustainability. We get to the heart of environmental problems by tackling the underlying social and economic causes and has been a strong and effective voice for the environment for more than 50 years. ACF's new Community Organising Team is using proven community organising techniques to reshape the way that ACF builds power with our supporters. Our team is tasked with building the leadership capacity of our supporters and empowering them to organise their communities and networks to influence and effect long term, lasting change. We are a new and growing team inside ACF and there are opportunities for new skills and experience to really make a difference. You will be one of four community organisers employed by ACF and work with the Community Organising Coordinator. Your job will be to work in strategically important communities to identify and support new leaders and to build relationships with and between our supporters on the ground. You will be responsible for identifying organising opportunities in the community, empowering our supporters to take advantage of them and linking them to the national campaign narratives of ACF. You will also be required to work closely with other environmental organisations and networks. You will be working on a broad range of issues including climate change, biodiversity protection, and creating a new ecologically sustainable economy.
