Location: Flexible working across all Groundwork London offices, predominantly Waterloo, Hackney & Islington Contract: 12 Months Fixed Term Salary: circa £23,000 37.5 hours per week
Environmental and social regeneration charity Groundwork is looking for a proactive and creative communicator with public relations skills and experience to join our Communications Team.
As a key member of the team, you will work alongside the Communications and PR Manager to develop the media relations and press office function of the Trust, securing consistent and on-message coverage in local, regional and trade press. A proven suite of relevant press contacts in the London context is a plus, although not essential.
You will lead on public relations and communications activities for a wide range of Groundwork London programmes and projects and work closely with our Community, Employment and Youth delivery teams to identify public interest stories and present them to our target audiences via compelling PR and communications campaigns.
You’ll need strong people, communication and organisation skills as you’ll be required to build relationships with, and pitch wide ranging concepts and stories to journalists, project partners and other stakeholders on a regular basis Experience of events organisation is desired, as the role will involve supporting the delivery of project events and activities. You will gain first-hand experience of our work and the positive impact it has on people’s lives and the environment across London.
You will produce communications material for digital and print, ensuring that the Groundwork London brand and frequent co-branding of project funders are applied consistently to all external and internal publicity materials, and that the messages you are communicating are consistent with our over-arching Marketing, Communications and Digital strategies.
You’ll need to be process driven, a quick learner and able to work independently at times and manage your assigned workload. You will also be expected to manage tight and often competing deadlines.
