Job Summary:

Our client is one of Europe’s largest project management and engineering consultancies, undertaking a wide range of high profile contracts worldwide.

Currently they are seeking a Commercial Project Manager to act as a Second Managing Agent for The Crown Estate based in the Haywards Heath Office. This will include representation at meetings with Industry and Government advisors, consultants and clients. As the Commercial Project Manager you will provide invaluable support to the Lead Agent, providing assistance on commercial aspects to The Crown Estate including analytical reviews and presentations.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

As the Commercial Project Manager, your duties will include:

• Management of commercial related aspects of The Crown Estate contract, which will include oversight on budgets, forecasting, income collection, debtors and reporting directly to The Crown Estate
• Cover, support, backup and potential succession to the Lead Agent
• Managing commercial aspects of project work including analytical and presentational roles

Customer facing elements require:

• Assistance in the provision of a full time helpdesk service for the client
• Representation of the client as required in external meetings
• Management, delegation and performance of tasks within the Agent team alongside and in the absence of the Lead Agent

Qualifications / Experience:

• Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline
• Good understanding of the commercial/financial aspects of project management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in managing a small team
• Client facing experience is essential
• Understanding of the marine environment and of construction materials is desirable
