Coldwater Conservation Fund Manager, Eastern RegionAbout Trout Unlimited
Trout Unlimited (TU) is a national conservation organization with more than 150,000 members organized into about 400 chapters nationwide. This dedicated grassroots army is matched by a highly-respected staff of 200 who work out of more than 30 offices nationwide, wherever trout and salmon live. These conservation professionals ensure that TU is at the forefront of fisheries restoration and protection work at the local, state, and national levels. Our mission is to conserve, protect, and restore North America's coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. Our vision is that by the next generation, Trout Unlimited will ensure that robust populations of native and wild coldwater fish once again thrive within their North American range, so that our children can enjoy healthy fisheries in their home waters. The Coldwater Conservation Fund (CCF) is a donor association within TU, founded in 1992 by a group of TU's most generous supporters who wished to establish a means of raising funds to support TU's science and program work. Today, the CCF is composed of those TU members who give $1,000 or greater annually. CCF members' support of specific programmatic work, and their general support of the organization, is vital to TU's ability to fulfill its mission. Position SummaryTU has a long history of conservation success in the Eastern and Midwestern United States, and has a significant conservation staff and grassroots presence across the region. The CCF Manager, Eastern Region will be responsible for expanding TU's CCF presence throughout the Eastern and Midwestern region, with particular emphasis on the Mid-Atlantic states. Specifically, the CCF Manager, Eastern Region will be responsible for the stewardship and cultivation of existing CCF donors and the recruiting of new CCF members and prospects, resulting in both annual and long-term support for TU and its programs. Cooperative work with TU program staff and grassroots representatives in the field will be a major component of the job. TU's Development program consists of 12 staff members spread across the country, as well as at the TU headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. This small group serves the needs of a major national conservation organization of 200 staff and greater than 150,000 members. Initiative, independence, and flexibility are critical attributes to success at Trout Unlimited. The position reports to the Managing Director, CCF.
