Description

The Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) is a ground-breaking alliance of businesses, trade unions and voluntary organisations that work together to improve the lives of poor and vulnerable workers around the world.

We are looking for an experienced programme manager based in Hong Kong, who has experience of working in mainland China.  This is a vital role, representing ETI in China and leading on all in-country work.  A key focus is to support programme and learning activities, engaging with local representatives of ETI members and local organisations, to deliver change with respect to international labour standards for vulnerable workers.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in ethical trade or development.

You will be committed to delivering high-quality programmes that provide practical ways of improving working conditions in international supply chains.

You will be a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities for expanding ETI’s engagement in China, in ways that help achieve organisational goals. We would value experience of working in multi-stakeholder projects, in supply chains and managing remotely in China.

You will put your excellent project management and people skills to good effect in setting and managing budgets, and liaising with our members, contractors, donor representatives, institutional and programme partners, and Secretariat.

This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours a week. A starting salary of £40,000 is offered, plus a 6% pension contribution and 25 days holiday.

Closing date: 30 November 2012

Interviews: w/c 14 December 2012
