Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), Canada’s most trusted and respected wetland conservation organization, is looking for an innovative strategist to cultivate ideas and further develop and expand information technology in alignment with our corporate goals and priorities. This position will be located at Oak Hammock Marsh near Stonewall, Man. Please apply by July 11, 2011.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) leads business strategy development, policy and planning for information technology infrastructure, services and applications; directs the strategic and innovative alignment of all Information Technology (IT) activities with DUC's vision, mission and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in strategic planning, execution and change management.
  • Understands and puts into practice the business theories, business process development, governance processes, management, budgeting and administrative operations.
  • Strong analytical skills as the incumbent will need to define and communicate IT standards for DUC and adjust, as well as define and communicate criteria for developing and prioritizing IT projects.
  • Very skilled at determining how DUC can profit from the use of the data DUC collects.
  • Demonstrates active leadership for development and delivery of a corporate training strategy on IT systems.
  • Talented at drawing information from a broad base of topics, business areas and people; must be entrepreneurial, be highly visible within DUC and across the border; 10 years’ experience working cross-functionally with international partners is a necessity.
  • Has a gift to foresee services that will meet end user needs and/or solve business issues.
  • Must demonstrate the talent to support all business lines simultaneously and be passionate about innovation. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or higher degree in information technology is an asset. Expertise in migrating platforms is essential.
