Carbon Analyst - Carbon Smart

Salary:  £25,000 to £28,000 pa, depending on experience

Two year fixed term KTP appointment plus sponsored MSc or MBA

Location:           London SE1 1RB

 

This is a unique opportunity in a growing and high profile sector in a role that combines leading academic research and real world business experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate environmental specialist with consultative outlook. You will work closely with other members of the team to carry out research, develop tools and approaches and contribute to the development and testing of Carbon Smart’s services and products. You will create and maintain relationships with networks of academic and environmental experts as well as providers of green products and services. You will keep yourself and the team informed of developments in the environmental and carbon sectors.

You should be comfortable working within in a small diverse team and be confident in contributing to all areas of the business. A cultural fit, belief in our aims and a desire to learn are vital.

Carbon Smart

Founded in 2006, Carbon Smart is a young, dynamic company of carbon specialists. We focus on practical, innovative solutions for carbon management in the work environment. Our work covers carbon and environmental assessments, waste and recycling, travel, stakeholder engagement, communication and policy and strategy work. We work with organisations in both the public and private sectors.

We are part of the Paper Round group which has been delivering practical environmental services to businesses in London for 18 years.

We have a partnership with environmental and energy efficiency experts at the Faculty of Engineering, Science and the Built Environment at London South Bank University.

Profile

Candidates should have a degree (minimum 2:1) in environmental sciences, energy engineering or a related area. They should have at least two years’ practical experience related to energy/ resource efficiency auditing and data collection, with some knowledge of building physics and energy behaviour.  Strong analytical and computing skills and excellent communication skills are required, as well as a good understanding of client / consultant relationships.  Candidates must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work closely and effectively with clients.

 

Knowledge Transfer Partnership

KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnerships) supports partnerships between business and universities, placing graduates (KTP Associates) to work on challenging, high-profile projects. This is a KTP appointment in which the candidate will work full-time at the company, but will be employed by London South Bank University. The KTP Associate benefits from a generous training package with the opportunity to enrol for a fully sponsored higher degree. Around 70% of KTP Associates go on to join the company in a permanent position.
