Brisbane based, part-time 4-days per week, annual salary rate $52,000 pro-rata for 4 days a week + 9% superannuation. Are you passionate about achieving successful environmental outcomes? Do you have the campaign skills to help protect Queensland's Wild Places? Are you seeking to join a dynamic and successful campaign team? The Wilderness Society (TWS) is Australia's leading community based environmental advocacy organisation dedicated to the protection, promotion and restoration of wilderness and natural processes throughout Australia. The Wilderness Society in Queensland (TWSQ) is looking for a skilled environmental campaigner who can undertake a leadership role in the coordination, planning, development and implementation of the Cape York World Heritage Campaign. The successful applicant will be skilled in a range of campaign activities including policy development, diverse community and political engagement, communications including media as well as networking and alliance building. In addition to the primary functions and responsibilities identified above, all campaigners contribute to the further organisational development and growth of TWSQ, including future campaigns development, participation in fundraising events, partnerships with other TWS groups, and involvement with other campaign issues as required. Whilst the position is funded for 4 days per week in the 2009-10 financial year, funding for the role may increase it to full-time in 2010-11.
