Are you passionate about climate action? Could you use your campaigning experience and outstanding communication skills to support Quakers in Britain to campaign for economic and environmental justice? Britain Yearly Meeting is recruiting for a Campaigns and Advocacy Coordinator to help expand our work on climate justice and related issues. You will be working in a team of four people to contribute to the strengthening of a Quaker movement taking action on economic and environmental justice and ensuring that Quaker voices are heard in policy making. From writing newsletters and policy briefings to running workshops or meeting with partner organisations, this is an exciting and varied role with considerable scope to contribute to the future direction of the work. You will be working to priorities set by programme managers and our Economics & Sustainability committee (made up of Quaker volunteers), but this is a working environment where everyone’s input is valued. If you have strong research and writing skills, some experience in a campaigning role, and enthusiasm for diverse approaches to social change work, we would love to hear from you. This is a part-time (28 hours per week), permanent post. For details of how to apply, please visit our website via the 'apply' button. Closing date: 9.00am on Monday 28 October 2019 Interview date: Thursday 7 November 2019 Britain Yearly Meeting is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk and expect all our staff and volunteers to share and uphold this commitment. Quakers have a faith commitment to equality and encourage and welcome applications for posts from all sections of society. You do not have to be a Quaker to apply for this post, but we expect you to uphold the values of our organisation. Britain Yearly Meeting is committed to equality in all of its employment practices. |
